Everything you need for your 4-day pioneer adventure
Pack Light & Smart
Remember, you'll be pulling a handcart for 28 miles. Pack only essentials and avoid overpacking. All items should fit in one 5 gallon bucket.
5-Gallon Bucket Items
5-Gallon bucket will be provided by the Stake. Pack the following items in your bucket:
Second set of Trek clothing
1 lightweight jacket or sweatshirt
1 rain poncho, rain gear, or 2 heavy-duty plastic bags (30-gallon size), depending on weather
1 - 2 pairs of athletic-type or hiking shoes that are sturdy and well broken in; water shoes (optional)
3 - 4 wool or cotton outer socks (more if rainy weather is expected) and 3 - 4 thin nylon or polyester liner socks worn underneath to prevent blisters
2 - 3 sets of underclothing
Pajamas
1 pair soft leather gloves or cheap garden gloves with non-slip grips for handcart pulling
Comb or brush
Toothbrush with travel-size toothpaste
Deodorant
1 washcloth and small hand towel
1 travel-size package of wet towelettes
1 small bottle of hand sanitizer
Any prescription medications you need, clearly marked
Sunscreen (SPF 30+)
Insect repellant (Mosquito, tick, and deer fly protection)
Chapstick (SPF 15+)
1 small flashlight, with extra batteries
Eyeglasses if needed. Contact lenses are recommended
Sunglasses
Small first-aid kit with band aids and moleskin
Small scriptures in plastic zip-type bag (optional for personal study)
Personal journal
Bedding
Must fit in 55-gallon bag provided by the Stake at Day 0 Drop Off.
Sleeping bag (rated for 40°F)
1 pillow or inflatable pillow
Additional blanket (optional)
1 sleeping pad (optional)
For Ma & Pa
In addition to everything above, Ma & Pa should bring:
A small personal duffel bag with your clothing and toiletries
A small camp chair in a sleeve (optional)
Extra Provisions Bucket
Pack the following items for your trek family in a separate bucket:
Sunscreen
Bug spray
Sanitizer
Small first-aid kit
Tarp
Bungee cords or rope
Kleenex
Toilet paper
Safety pins
Consecrated oil
Duct tape
Towel for drying feet, etc.
Emergency feminine supplies
Garbage bags for the handcarts
Squirt bottle or mister

All items should fit in one Ziplock or waterproof bag.
Tylenol and Ibuprofen: several tablets of each
Antiseptic wipes
Neosporin
Desitin or runners lube for chafing
Tweezers for slivers
Fingernail clippers
Athletic tape: 1 roll, 2 inches wide
Moleskin (the thin stuff, 1/16 inch) or a box of Blist-O-Ban (for blisters)
Band-Aids: various sizes
Scissors
Hydrocortisone cream
